The VONEN Metal Hydride (MH) allows continuous purification, storage and use of hydrogen gas. The system is based on the use of the VONEN MH Storage system.
Since only hydrogen is adsorbed and stored in the metal hydride, the H2 purity at the MH Storage outlet is above 99.999% (99.99973% in our latest tests).
VONEN MH Purifier guarantees perfect H2 purification even in situations where H2 feed is discontinuous, or the content of contaminants varies considerably.
Since the VONEN H2-MH storage units do not suffer from self-discharge, hydrogen can, if necessary, also be stored in the purification system for years without any loss of energy through self-discharge.
NOTE: For H2O, though, an additional desiccant is needed, which is why we recommend the VONEN PSA System for the purification of hydrogen produced by electrolysis or hydrolysis. The VONEN PSA System is also recommended if purifier inlet gas feed contains carbon monoxide CO, since CO occasionally requires regeneration of the metal hydride through heating.
